1. What's the difference between the Classic and Premium wine tours?
The main differences are duration, wineries visited, and inclusions. Classic runs 7 hours and visits 4–5 wineries with a lunch stop. Premium runs 8 hours, visits 5–6 wineries with a long lunch, and includes a complimentary dinner transfer to your restaurant that evening. Premium suits anniversaries and celebrations; Classic suits a relaxed full-day escape.
2. How much does a Hunter Valley wine tour cost?
Private Hunter Valley wine tours with Loop Tours start from $400 on weekdays and $500 on weekends. Express is $400/$500, Classic is $450/$550, and Premium is $550/$625. All tours are private for your group only. Large groups up to 11 guests are also available.
3. How many wineries can I visit on a Hunter Valley wine tour?
You choose. On a 5-hour Express tour, most guests comfortably visit 3 wineries. On a 7-hour Classic tour, 4–5 wineries. On an 8-hour Premium tour, 5–6 wineries with a long lunch. Because every tour is private, you set the pace and pick the cellar doors.
4. Can I choose which wineries I visit?
Yes. Every Loop Tours wine tour is 100% private, so you choose the wineries from over 150 cellar doors across Pokolbin, Lovedale, Broke and beyond. Not sure where to start? Your driver can suggest an itinerary based on your tastes — big reds, boutique whites, sparkling, or something off the beaten track.
5. Where do you pick up from?
We offer door-to-door pickup from anywhere in the Hunter Valley.Pickups from Pokolbin, Lovedale, Cessnock, North Rothbury or anywhere within 15 km of Hunter Valley Gardens are included in the tour price. Extended pickup areas may incur an additional fee.
6. Do I need to book weekday or weekend separately?
No — every tour package runs 7 days a week. Weekday tours are slightly cheaper because cellar doors are quieter, which many guests actually prefer. Weekend tours have a livelier atmosphere but book out faster. Pick the day that suits you and choose your package at that day's rate.
7. Is lunch included in the wine tour?
Classic and Premium tours include a lunch stop at a Hunter Valley restaurant or winery — you pay for your own meal. Express tours don't include a lunch stop by default, but you're welcome to add one. Recommendations available in our Hunter Valley restaurants guide.
